Area 14 Qualifier for Festival of the Hunter at Geldeston Hall on 7th October

Write up from Sue Westmore:-

Unfortunately, our team was reduced to 3 when yet again my lorry refused to start (getting to be a sore point with Crabby!), and was then knocked out of the qualifier competitions due to an anomaly on a flu certificate.  However, despite all of this, the team of Jill, Abi and Marie did really well over a very challenging course.  This year, BBRC ran the course backwards, having hosted the hunter trials qualifier for a number of years, but putting the quarry as fence 2 was a bit steep for novice teams.  Also, the water this year was jumped in the reverse direction and although the fence in the water was removed, the step in was followed very quickly by a very narrow skinny.  Sadly, a lot of riders got no further than this and were seen walking home almost as soon as they’d started.  The team all experienced some problems on the course, but all completed and did really well to come 6th, which I believe is the first time we’ve been placed at area level.  Poor Marie must have been cursing my lorry almost as much as I was as she was left without a partner, but  Jill and Abi contested the new pairs competition and came a very creditable 3rd.
