    9th/10th September National Championships Lincoln

Deben Riding Club has been delighted by the brilliant response from our request for help towards costs for our qualifying teams traveling to Lincoln  in September.  Established back in 1961 Deben Riding Club is affiliated to the  British Horse Society and along with 12 other clubs, forms Area 14 and during the course of the year, teams from each club compete against each other in disciplines such as show jumping, dressage and cross country, the winning teams going forward to the National Championships.

Two years ago at Lincoln our senior team con the Riding Test and came home the National Champions!  A wonderful achievement for what is a relatively small club.  Again this year our teams are riding high with a total of 12 Juniors and 8 seniors representing the club at National level in classes including Pairs Dressage, Show Jumping, Horse Trials, equitation Jumping and Riding Test.  Sponsors who came forward to help include feed company Charnwood Milling of Framlingahm, who generously donated towards the teams expenses, as have Boyton Hall (presentation pictured below), the newly opened equestrian centre at Monks Eleigh and Ipswich based haulage company, Chief LogisticsHemcore have promised to deliver direct to the showground bales of their specialist bedding for the horses overnight stay.  Keith Hunter, father of Amy, has paid for the teams smart new matching saddlecloths and a further £50 has been given by a private sponsor.  We would like to thank all the generous sponsors from the teams and the Riding Club Committee.

Watch this space for updates on how the teams get on.  Good luck to all those taking place in September!
